This Privacy Policy describes how Vault ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our Service. By using Vault, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: name, email address, and password when you sign up.
  • Listing content: titles, descriptions, prices, photos, and other item details you enter.
  • Payment information: processed by Stripe; we do not store card numbers.

Information from third-party platforms

  • OAuth access tokens for eBay and Etsy, used solely to publish and manage your listings on your behalf. Tokens are encrypted at rest.
  • Sale and transaction data returned by platform APIs (e.g., sold item IDs) used to sync your inventory.

Usage data

  • Log data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps.
  • Error and performance data to improve the reliability of the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service.
  • Publish and synchronize your listings with third-party marketplaces.
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, billing).
  • Respond to your support requests.
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as necessary to operate the Service:

  • Third-party marketplaces (eBay, Etsy): listing content and images are transmitted to these platforms on your instruction.
  • Supabase: database and authentication provider. Data is stored in their managed infrastructure.
  • Stripe: payment processing. Subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
  • Netlify: hosting provider for the Service.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data and listing history for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may delete your account at any time, which will remove your personal data from active systems within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.

5. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption at rest for sensitive credentials and HTTPS for all data in transit. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.

7. Cookies

Vault uses cookies and similar storage mechanisms only to maintain your authenticated session. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice in the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
